As the third child, eldest girl of six children born to Pauline, she explored all things of interest until the jewels to which they offered were extracted. This continued throughout her world travels and all things Arts and Crafts including stained glass and etching, needlepoint and of most recent diamond paintings feeding the uncanny thirst for knowledge. Paulette’s love for Koalas and Luck of the Irish tokens always a thread displayed in her creations.
Paulette married Michael C. Gurny in January 1962 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Together they raised their late son Stephen in Brooklyn until relocating to Hicksville, NY and then finally settling in Port St. Lucie. Both dedicated to the keystone of community service, Paulette through her sorority and Michael a former NYPD officer and retired St Lucie County Sheriff Deputy. They continued to build community for over 20 years throughout the state of Florida with their family owned and operated business of Tri-County Mortuary Service. Paulette retired the business after the passing of her husband continuing to volunteer, world travel, and crafting.
Paulette is predeceased by both parents; loving husband Michael C. Gurny and beloved son Stephen Gurny; brothers John Thomas Fahy of Margate, FL and Thomas Fahy of Winter Park, FL. She is survived by fur-child Onxy; sisters, Phyllis Vankeuren of Albany, NY and Deborah Vankeuren of Brooklyn, NY; brother Michael Vankeuren of Albuquerque, NM; sisters-in-law Kathleen Fahy and Lorrie Vankeuren. With an ever-loving family tree filled bearing nieces and nephews.
