On Thursday, August 23rd 2018, a beloved husband, father, brother and friend; Peter "Pete" Bannister went home to be with Jesus.
He left behind his “Sweetie” (wife) Carol; his daughter, Brittney, son in law Jeremy, as well as other family members and friends.
Pete was born May 21, 1951 in Bridgeport Connecticut, moved to Florida with his wife Carol in 1980 and shared 38 loving years as her husband.
He worked in multiple fields in the restaurant business and was an entrepreneur and jack of all trades. Pete was a very colorful character who enjoyed “Yacking” with anyone and everyone. His dry sarcastic sense of humor was one of his many admirable qualities.
Pete enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, and will always be remembered best as “Mr. Pete, the Hotdog Man” at Morningside Academy. He loved bringing a meal and a smile to all the children at the school. The children, as well as his wife and daughter, were among his top reasons to keep on fighting this battle.
When God called Pete home, it was a shock no one saw coming. But we know he is resting comfortably in the presence of the Lord awaiting his Heavenly body; as Pete accepted Christ to be Lord of his life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Pete can be made to the Make A Wish Foundation of Southern Florida: 4491 S. State Road 7, Suite 201 Ft. Lauderdale, FL. 33314.
A Celebration of Pete’s life will be held at 10:30 am, on Saturday, September 1st, at the Morningside Family Center, 2180 SE Morningside Blvd., Port St Lucie, FL 34952.
