Phillip Earl Cooper, 55, passed away on February 24, 2023 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

He was born on December 30, 1967 in Columbus, Ohio and resided in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Phil graduated from Martin County High School in Stuart, Florida.  He was the owner of Phil Cooper’s Lawn Maintenance, was a dump truck driver, for 4 J’s Trucking, Treasure Coast Land Clearing, and Ranger Construction, where he was known as “Cowboy” and for the last 9 years he was employed with Florida East Coast Railroad as a Train Engineer. He was a member of River Ranch POA, where he loved weekend trail riding and camping with friends and family. He also enjoyed boating and hanging out at the Cove. Phil was larger than life, always the life of the party, loved making people laugh and always had a good story to tell.  Phil had a “Gift” of making an instant connection and striking up a conversation with perfect strangers and making lifelong friends anywhere he traveled. He was married to the love of his life, Cyndee, and the 2 of them were seldom apart.  He took his role as a Husband, Father and provider serious.  He was very proud of his 3 sons, and he adored spending time with his beautiful granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Cyndee Green Cooper of Fort Pierce, FL; sons, Layton Allen Hodges, Blake Aaron Hodges, and Dalton Lane Cooper all of Fort Pierce, FL; granddaughter, Leah Lynn Hodges of Fort Pierce, FL; mother, Sandra Kay Attaway (Steve) of Buckhead Ridge, FL; father, Thomas Oscar Cooper of Illinois; brothers, Alex A. Fernandez of Washington D.C. and Steven Colston (Lyndi) of Madison, MS; sister, Kathryn Kimbrell (Mark) of Sedalia, MO.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Carl Earl Flood and grandmother, Helen Margaret Falkosky.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 3:00 PM at the Spirit of Life Church, 700 S. 33rd Street, Fort Pierce, FL 34947.

A reception will follow at St. Lucie County Fire Department Union Hall, 11201 W. Midway Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34945.
