Phyllis Clark

November 15, 1931 — February 17, 2014

Phyllis “Miss Kitty” Clark, a resident of Ft. Pierce for nearly 50 years, enjoyed a decade long career as a well-known Bartender, most notably at The VFW, The Ft. Pierce Hotel, The Jetty Lounge and Archie’s Sea breeze. Also a talented multimedia artist, she was one of the original members of The Ft. Pierce Art Club, along with other notables such as Beanie Backus and Helen Terry. Later in life she worked a short while as a home health aid, having earned her CNA Certification. “Miss Kitty” frequently visited local nursing homes with the Nursing Home Ministry and would bring her dog “Sadie” along to cheer up residents. A member of the White City Methodist Church, she enthusiastically shared her many talents and love of quilting, often leaving fellow quilters in stitches with her stories and antics. She also recently taught an art class there . Her charitable works include efforts for the Linus Project and Hospice, among others.

Phyllis “Miss Kitty” Clark was a mother of eight children and is survived by her brother Ronald Cervini of El Paso, Texas, her daughter Laurie Jones, son William “Billy” Jones, daughter Linda Cosgrove, her grandchildren Gina Magana, Michael Cosgrove, Daniel Jones, William “Sam” Jones, Laurie Shannon Jones and Autumn Jones, and six great grandchildren of Ft. Pierce. She is also survived by her daughter Marie NemecZullo of Ft. Lauderdale.

“Miss Kitty” also had many friends and “adopted” children throughout the years.

A memorial will be held at the White City Methodist Church on Midway Road and will be hosted by Rev. George Welch. (772) 4642792
