Phyllis Marie (Utrecht) Laughton, 93, passed peacefully November 8, 2015 in Ft. Pierce, Fl.
Ms. Phyllis was born February 2, 1922 in Washington, D.C., the daughter of the late Frederick and Laura (Packard) Utrecht. She had one sister, Dorothy, and two brother’s Robert and Fredrick. She received a degree from Benjamin Franklin University in 1943. She was an accounting Tech. for the Navy in California for over 15 years. After moving to the Miami area, she then was an accounting clerk for Dade Co. Park and Recreation Dept. for over 10 years. She moved to Ft. Pierce in 2000.
Ms. Phyllis married the love of her life, Donald George Laughton, August 08, 1967 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She enjoyed extensive travel with her late husband to places like France, Japan, Hong Kong and Hawaii to name a few.
Ms. Phyllis was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 40 in Ft. Pierce for over 13 years and VFW Post 471. She enjoyed watching old movies until the early hours of the morning and was an avid reader.
It was Ms. Phyllis’ request for no services. Inurnment will take place in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida with her beloved late husband Donald.
