On the evening of 9/13/23 Punerdai Bissoon's life in this physical plane came to a peaceful end at the age of 61 with the support of her close family, friends, and Treasure Coast Hospice. Shirley had the heart of a warrior and spent 1 year and 9 months fighting Stage 4 cancer defying doctors expectations. She passed in the home built by her father Lall Singh which is now known as the Hindu place of worship and community center, Shree Devi Mandir. 

Shirley Bissoon was a single mother who despite all the odds and struggles in life happened to manifest the pure love that can only be ascribed to saints. Shirley lived up to the name of the place she was born in on September 2^nd 1962, Good Hope, Mahaica, Guyana. She spent many years of her life as a CNA because she loved being able to make a difference. Though she was a mother of two sons she was also a mother, daughter, and sister to many including community leaders, her sons silly friends, and Jackson the Cat. 

Shirley will be forever remembered by her loving sons, Neranjan Bissoon (Bobby) of Oakland, CA and Naresh Bissoon of Port St Lucie, FL; her sister Meena Persaud, her niece and nephew Amanda Persaud and Ryan Persaud, her many cousins, her many aunties and uncles, her Daughter-In-Law Sarah Hartman, her ex-husband Chaman, her adopted Trinidadian brothers and sisters, and many many more including Binky, Camille, Miley, Aria, and Grace. The most important things in her life was the love of her sons, the hope for all the children in the family to be great, and her faith in the many gods and goddesses of the Hindu religion. According to her eldest sons view she herself was an incarnation of the Goddess Mother Durga on Earth.

The final viewing for Punerdai Bissoon (Shirley) will take place at Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service at 3015 Okeechobee Rd, Fort Pierce, FL 34947 on Monday 9/18 and Tuesday 9/19 from 5pm-8pm with her funeral and cremation ceremony to take place on Wednesday 9/20 from 9am - 12pm.
