R.E. "Wayne" Mclendon

R. E. “WAYNE” McLENDON
Fort Pierce, Florida

R. E. “Wayne” McLendon, 81, died January 16, 2014, in Vero Beach, Florida.

He was born in Dublin, Leurance County, Georgia, and was a resident of Fort Pierce, Florida.
Wayne was an electrician, enjoyed fishing, luxury cars, spending time with his friends and family.

His greatest joy was spending time with his wonderful wife of 30 years, Marian Franko McLendon.

He was a Veteran of the Korean War, having earned five US Army Bronze Battle Stars. The experiences of war were vivid memories in his later years. He retired from NADEP, JAX in 1984 after 30 years and was a lifelong member of the Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Marian Franko McLendon; son, Ken and a daughter; stepsons Larry, Gary, Jack and Joe Franko; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 14, 2014 at the South Florida VA National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL in Lane 1.
