Mr. Akerley was born in West Springfield, Pennsylvania and moved to Vero Beach in 1959 coming from Conneaut, Ohio.
Ray was a heavy equipment operator for the City of Ft. Pierce. He loved to garden.
Survivors include his son, Lynn Akerley of Vero Beach, FL; sister, Jean Blood of West Springfield, PA; 2 grandchildren, Justin and Tyler Akerley both of Vero Beach, FL; 1 niece. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Akerley.
