Reba Zaring

Reba Zaring, 82, left this world for a better place on October 19, 2010.

Born May 16, 1928 in Stark, FL to Sally and James T. Roberts, she was one of 9 children.

She previously owned Z’s Cleaning Service and was a retired CNA at Easter Manor in Fort Pierce.

She married Lewis M. Zaring, Sr. in 1949, moving to Indianapolis and Carmel, Indiana where she became a full time mother to his three children, Lewis M. Zaring, Jr., Pat T. Zaring, and Nora Sharon Zaring Richardson. Later followed the birth of their two children, Tena Janae Zaring Pottorff and Stephen Aaron Zaring. The family came to St. Lucie County, FL in 1960.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed tending to her many plants and was an all around nature lover. Reba had a love for country music, and was a talented singer subject to break out in song and yodeling at anytime. She was interested in a variety of crafts.

She is survived by her son, Pat Zaring (Paula) of Raeford, North Carolina, daughter, Tena Janae Pottorff (David) of Port St. Lucie, FL and son, Stephen A. Zaring (Bonnie) of Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Tena Carpenter of Umatilla, FL, Priscilla Gallagher of Texas, Lisa Davenport of Port St. Lucie, FL, Chad Norman of Jupiter, FL, Erin Leanne Zaring and Stephen P. Zaring both of Dahlonega, GA; great-grandchildren living locally are, Katie Greeley, Brianna Norman, Timothy Davenport, and Ethan Norman; sisters, Genevieve Mock (James) of Stuart, FL, Evelyn Keller (Richard) of Melbourne, FL, Elmyra Stanford (Walt) of Wimauma, FL and brother, Johnny Blackwelder (Patricia) of Addison, AL. She had a special friend of over 50 years, Robert C. Hartlep also of Port St. Lucie, FL.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Lewis M. Zaring, Sr., son, Lewis M. Zaring, Jr. and daughter, Nora Sharon Richardson, parents, Sally and James T. Roberts, and stepfather, A.V. Blackwelder, brother, James T. Roberts, sisters, Ann Isbell, Ruth Butler, and Pauline Lawrence.

Services: Visitation will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010 from 12-2 PM with a service to follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Craig Bridgers officiating at Haisley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
