Rev. Mark Christopher

Reverend Mark Christopher, 86, of Fort Pierce passed away September 4th, at home, peacefully surrounded by his caregivers and loving family. He was born September 21, 1930 in Buffalo, New York to the late Walter and Antonina (Gajewski) Kurkowski. Father Chris graduated from St. Francis High School in Athol Springs in June of 1948 and went to study at St. Bonaventure University and various Seminaries until his ordination at St. Michael's Cathedral, in Springfield, Mass. on June 15, 1957. He served in the Franciscan Order, later to move to Florida and serve the Diocese of Orlando and the Diocese of Palm Beach, until he retired from St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Fort Pierce in 1999. Father Mark Christopher continued to serve two parishes in Lakeland and All Souls Parish in Sanford, Florida until he retired a second and final time in 2014.
