Richard Dean Bergen
Richard Dean Bergen, 82, passed away on June 14, 2022 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Bergen was born on June 24, 1939 in Neptune, New Jersey to John & Marjorie Bergen.
Rich graduated from Woodbridge High School in New Jersey. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Air Force Reserve, and Army National Guard. He worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company and was a handicap representative for Buddies Auto. He was also a member of the Fort Pierce Auxiliary Police Department, Remnant Presbyterian Church, Fort Pierce, and A.M.A. lifetime member. He was an expert Trials rider in New Jersey. He and his brothers, were known as the “Bergen Brothers” of the Jersey Comets Motorcycle Club. He was an avid dirt bike enthusiast and supporter of family racing.
Rich was known for his easy going & fun-loving personality. Always ready to lend a helping hand to most anyone in need. One of his constant statements was “Just Smile”, which he usually always did. He loved his family with all his heart and will be greatly missed!
Survivors include his wife, Janet S. Bergen of Fort Pierce, FL; daughter, Ronna D. Perry of Fort Pierce, FL; son, John R. Bergen of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Tyler Bergen of Jensen Beach, FL, J. Kevin (Dhanisha) Perry, Jr of Fort Pierce, FL, Kara A. (fiancé Izzy) Bergen of Fort Pierce, FL, Hannah D. (Nathaniel) Fuentes; 3 great-grandchildren; and brother, Harry Bergen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Les & Marjorie Bergen, brother, Les Bergen, sister, Joan Lowe and son-in-law, J. Kevin Perry.

Services: Visitation will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 10:00-10:30 AM with a service to follow at 10:30 AM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
