Mr. Gast was born in Miami, Florida and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1980.
Prior to retirement, he was a contractor.
Survivors include his daughter, Cathy Wells of Ft. Pierce, FL; sister, Betty Reeves of Perry, FL; 3 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leonora Gast.

Services: Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 from 5-7 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
