Richard H. Rice

Richard Howard Rice, 80, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away June 25, 2024.

Richard was born in Corning, NY, on September 15, 1943, to Raymond and Eileen (O’Donnell) Rice.

Richard was a retired general contractor in the construction industry most of his life. Richard loved sailing and racing his sailboat, “Wild Rice,” and was a member of the St. Lucie Sailing club. He also loved gardening and traveling. He is most notable for his kind, compassionate, and generous spirit. 

He was the beloved partner and best friend to Asta Poirier, father to Richard Rice, Jr., and Ryan Rice; and grandfather to Randy, Riley, Lily, and Jameson Rice; stepfather to Asta’s daughters, Elise St. Pierre and Nicole Grow; and great-grandfather to Delilah, Dean, and Daphne Michel. He is also survived by his sister, Ruthanne Decker, and brother, Ray Rice, of Stuart.

His beloved family will hold all services privately at a later date.
