Richard Dennis Sopko

Richard Dennis Sopko "Bipa" entered into eternal life on March 10, 2022 at the age of 91. He was born in Stratford, CT on January 3rd, 1931 to the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Sedlak) Sopko.

Richard retired from Textron Co. and relocated to Florida. Richard was a Navy Veteran who served in the Korean War. Bipa was a wonderful father and grandfather. He loved his family. He enjoyed swimming, golfing, and fishing on his boat "We Go".

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Sharon Lee Sopko. He lovingly leaves his daughter, Cynthia L. Jackson, sons, Edward A. Jackson Jr. and wife Kristine, David L. Jackson and wife Kristin, and Richard W. Jackson and his wife Randi. Cherished grandchildren, Eléna E. Jackson, Donald Gallagher, Colin Gallagher, Zoei Whaley, Ryan Gallagher, Randi Cone, Tyler L. Jackson, Jacqueline Freeman, Erin Jackson, Jesse Rocha, Kelsey Jackson, Curtis Tyler Swint, Kenny Walker, Kim Walker, and Katie Chirico; great-grandchildren: Brayden Jackson, Connor Gallagher, Kristin Tyler, Anthony Colon, Samantha Tyler, Gwen, Hannah, and Hailee Walker; Great-great-grandchild, Luna Colon. Richard also leaves behind his friend and brother-in-law, William F. Flaherty. He is preceded in passing by his beloved granddaughter, Ashley Jackson; brother, Stephen Sopko; sister, Evelyn Ehrsom, and sister-in-law, Pamela Hatch.

We will miss this quiet and gentle man and will always love him.

Internment with full Military Honors will be held in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
