Richard J. Waldron Sr., of Ft. Pierce, Florida, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Lawnwood Medical Center, Ft. Pierce.
He was born August 13, 1933, in Cranbury, NJ, the son of the late George and Anna (Skipper) Waldron. He has been a long time resident of Ft. Pierce, moving here in the 1940's from Dania. He had also served as a Sargent 1st Class with the US Army National Guard for 23 years and coached and shot in the Camp Perry National Rifle Matches for 5 years.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a Pipe Fitter and Plumber with the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters LU#630 of West Palm Beach for 63, years.
Mr. Waldron was an active member of the Southside Christian Church, and was a member of Ft. Pierce Masonic Lodge #87, York Rite St Lucie Commandery #17 and Scottish Rite Valley of Lake Worth. He was honored with the 33rd Degree, highest honor bestowed a Mason, in 1980. He was also gemologist, being a member of the St. Lucie County Rock & Gem Club, Lost Dutchman Mining Assoc., Gold Prospectors Assoc. and Weekend Gold Miners Prospecting. He was very talented making jewelry woodworking. He was a former Scout Master with Troop #479 of Ft. Pierce and was a loving husband and father.
Richard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary (Coleman) Waldron of Ft. Pierce; sons, Richard J. Waldron Jr. of Chester, SC, Charles T. Waldron and William H. Waldron both of Ft. Pierce; several loving nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sister, Dottie Keene, Sue Palmer and Boots Rooks, as well as a step brother, Buss Waldron.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 13th, 2018, at 11:00am at Southside Christian Church, 3822 Edwards Road, Fort Pierce, FL, 34981.
