Rita Marie Malizia, 78, died May 27, 2009 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Mrs. Malizia was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to St. Lucie County 22 years ago coming from Stratford, New Jersey.
She owned and operated Hurricane Rita Gift Shop in Vero Beach, Florida and was a member of the Ft. Pierce Jazz Society.
Survivors include her sons & daughters-in-law, Mark & Dorothy Malizia of Ft. Pierce, FL and David & Donna Malizia of Palm City, FL; brother, Anthony Milone of Mickleton, NJ; sister, Adele Canup of Santa Fe, NM; grandchildren, Jonathan, Joseph, Madison Malizia and Kelly Szentmartoni all of Stuart, FL, Danielle Rose of Tampa, FL and Brian Riley of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; close friend, James Betzhold of Port St. Lucie, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Malizia.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Treasure Coast Hospice, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997.
Services: A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Haisley Funeral Home.
