Robert Anthony Hobson, Sr.
Robert (Bob) Anthony Hobson, Sr., 85, passed away April 8, 2010 at Florida Hospital Hospice Care in Ormond Beach, FL. Born October 24, 1924 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Robert Anthony Hobson of Dublin, Ireland and Mary Rodgers, Philadelphia, Pa. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1943 and served in World War II. He married Nancy W. Ott in 1956 and they moved to Ft. Pierce, FL. An avid golfer, Bob served as coordinator for many golf tournaments throughout the years. Twenty of his career years were spent in the automobile business and real estate. Bob will be remembered for his great wit and sense of humor and his love for his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Holly Hobson Lockey (Rich) of Longwood, FL, Robert (Inky) A. Hobson, Jr. (Nancy) of Tallahassee, FL, and John (Jackie) Ott Hobson (Esther) of Port St. Lucie, FL. In addition he is survived by 6 grandchildren, Tamara N. Hobson, John Ott Hobson, II, Chase Richard Lockey, Robert A. Hobson, IV (Austin), Teylor Marie Lockey, Morgan Coley Hobson and great grandson, John Ott Hobson, III. In addition Mr. Hobson is survived by his sisters, Pat Hobson and Alice Mills, and brother, Tom Hobson and many nieces and nephews of Pennsylvania. Mr. Hobson was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Ott Hobson in 1983.
A memorial service will be held, Friday, April 16th at 3:00 p.m. at Haisley Funeral Home in Ft. Pierce, Fl. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society or Hospice. Arrangements by: Haisley Funeral Home, Ft. Pierce, FL
