Robert B. Slagle, 88, died May 20, 2011 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Slagle was born in Denison, Texas and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1988 coming from Homestead, Florida.
He was a Plant Engineer for 8 years at FP&L’s Turkey Point Power Plant, an Engineer for 20 years at Sperry Flight Systems & Components. He was a member of the Stephen’s Ministries , member and past Elder of Indian River Presbyterian Church, Rotary Club of Ft. Pierce, A. C. Garrett Lodge AF&AM, OX5 Aviation Pioneers and B-26 Memorial Association.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia B. Slagle of Ft. Pierce, FL; sister, Hazel Fehmel of Bay City, TX; stepdaughters, Elizabeth (Bruce) Lindsay of Cleveland, OH, Bonnie (Ritchie) Norris of Port Orange, FL; stepsons, Richard Boehm of Port St. Lucie, FL, Wade Boehm of Sebastian, FL, and William “Bill” Boehm of Palmdale, CA; 13 step-grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Indian River Presbyterian Church, 2499 Virginia Avenue, Fort Pierce, FL 34982.
Services: Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011 from 2-3 PM with a service at 3:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the Haisley Reception Center.
