Robert O. Bater, born January 22, 1931 in Churchville, New York to Lester and Ida Mae Bater, died January 18, 2017 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Leone Bater, two daughters, Diane Bater Sikkema and Susan Bater Brondell, two grandchildren, Phillip Powell and Summer Kai Brondell Lenz, and five great-grandchildren, Camaron Powell, Devon Powell, Makenna Powell, Sebastian Lenz and Kellum Lenz.
He was comptroller and Vice President of Minton Equipment Co. for 15 years until the sale of the company. He then was a Property Appraiser for the St. Lucie County Property Appraiser's Office until his retirement in 1995.
He enjoyed camping and traveling around the United States, but his real love was the game of golf. He was Club Champion several times at the Vero Beach Country Club, and also many times at Indian Hills Country Club in Fort Pierce.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ located at 3601 Kirby Loop Road, Fort Pierce, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, you may make donations in his memory to Treasure Coast Hospice House or First Congregational United Church of Christ.
