Robert “Bob” W. Shaffer, 68, died July 14, 2023 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Mr. Shaffer was born in Hammond, Indiana and moved to Fort Pierce, Florida as an infant.

Bob was the owner/operator of Robert Shaffer Custom Carpentry.  He loved snow skiing when he was younger.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Shaffer of Fort Pierce, FL; sons, Alex R. Shaffer and Nathan G. (Alyssa) Shaffer both of Vail, CO.

The Handyman

I once knew of a handyman

whose work was never done,

who always had a project completed,

so he could start on another one.

The hands that he possessed were strong,

yet gentle to the touch,

his advice on how to do things

always meant so much.

He not only crafted material things

but build good feelings from inside,

he loved his work, he loved his life,

and he will always be thought of with pride.

There are many things standing in place

to remind us of his skill,

just as he built a place in our hearts,

and live there he always will.

The handyman has left now,

but his work is still not done,

he's gone to join the Master Craftsman,

and work on each rising and setting sun.
