Robert J. Duchesneau, 88, died October 02, 2014, in Stuart, Florida. Robert was born in West Warwick, Rhode Island and has been a resident of Port St. Lucie since 2013, moving here from Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Survivors include daughters, Roberta Beaucage and husband Geoffrey of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Debra Zommer and husband John of Coventry, Rhode Island; one son, John Duchesneau of West Springfield, Massachusetts; Sisters, Maria Friedlander of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Angela Duchesneau also of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one brother Ray Duchesneau of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, John Zommer III.
Robert retired from MC Smith Co as an engraver. He served with the U.S. Navy during WWII and received the WWII Victory Medal, American Area Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with One Bronze Star, as well as the Asiatic Pacific Area Ribbon with 1 Star. He was an accomplished Pianist, who attended the Boston Conservatory of music. He spent 25 years playing and entertaining at various Nursing and Retirement Communities. He was also an avid golfer, who was proud of once having a hole in one.
