Robert J. Goosman

Robert “Bob” Goosman, 94, of Fort Pierce, FL passed away on August 3, 2023 at 8:34am.

Bob was deeply loved by all. He was a generous, kind and religious father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a devoted husband. He is survived by his son, Gregory Martin Goosman (Peggy L.) of Mims, FL, his daughter MaryBeth Goosman of Fort Pierce and his sister Marian Meyer of Bradenton, FL. He is survived by his grandchildren Jennifer Goosman of Cincinnati, Ben Goosman (Emily) of Cincinnati, Steven Goosman of Cincinnati, Joshua Theisen of Homestead, FL, and his great-grandkids, Charlie, Tommy, and Henry of Cincinnati (with twins on the way).

Bob is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Bernice Goosman of Fort Pierce and by his granddaughter, Erin Rachel Goosman of Cincinnati.

Bob was born in Cincinnati, OH on August 2, 1929 to Bernard Goosman and Mary (Coughlin) Goosman. He grew up in Cincinnati and went to Purcell High School. He proudly served his country in the US Army from February 1, 1951 to November 3, 1952 where he reached the rank of Master Sergeant as a Tank Commander. He was a veteran of the Korean War. In 1954, he married Bernice Evelyn Berling and they spent 68 years together.

Bob was an avid golfer who played courses all over the United States, Puerto Rico and abroad. He loved the ocean, boating, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was a successful businessman and was compassionate, believed in hard work and had a great sense of humor.

Besides his love of people and life, he had a passion for all things Cincinnati Bengals.  Being the team’s number one fan is an understatement. He jumped aboard the Bengal train when the franchise started in Cincinnati in 1968. He went to the games when they played at the University of Cincinnati’s Nippert stadium and had season tickets forever. He was at what is known as the Freezer Bowl when temperatures reached -52 degrees below zero. A true fan of WHO DEY Nation.

The memorial service will be held on August 18, 2023 from 5-7pm at Haisley  Funeral Home, 3015 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34947.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 19, 2023 at 10am at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 1924 Zephyr Avenue, Fort Pierce.
