Robert Hiple, 67, died July 2, 2013 at his home in Port St. Lucie, FL.
He was born in Canton, Ohio and lived in St. Lucie County for 62 years, coming from his birthplace.
Robert graduated from Dan McCarty High School, Class of 1964, and spent two years serving in the US Army, stationed in Germany. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Florida Atlantic University. School was always a major part of Bob’s life, as he was a retired educator in the St. Lucie County School System teaching Social Studies at the Middle School and High School levels. He also served as an Assistant Football Coach at Ft. Pierce Westwood High School. He became an administrator in 1985 and spent the remainder of his career as an Assistant Principal. In addition, after his retirement, he worked as a part-time facilitator in the GED program at IRSC.
Bob was an avid tennis player and could always be seen on the courts in his spare time. These courts are where he met his wife Renee. He was a member of the Twin Oaks Tennis Club and the Elks Club. Other passions include football, a serious fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Florida Gators, fishing, a hobby when he could spent time relaxing with his family, travel, dancing and reading.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Renee Trupp Hiple of Port St. Lucie, FL; sons, Jared Hiple of Arlington, TX, Brett Hiple (Jessica) and Christopher Pottorff (Jennifer) of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughter, Tia Hughes (Ed) of Oveido, FL; sister, Patricia Gray of Cocoa Beach, FL; grandchildren, Logan Hughes, Rylee Hiple, Taylor Pottorff and Caleb Pottorff. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Yvonne Hiple.
