Robert "Bob" McDaniel

January 16, 1956 — February 1, 2025

Ft. Pierce, Florida

Robert “Bob” McDaniel, age 69, was called home to the heavens on Saturday, February 1, 2025.

Robert Alan was born to Homer Dale and Shirleen Florice Barnum McDaniel on January 16, 1956, in Carrizozo, New Mexico. He was raised in Titusville, Florida after his father moved the family there to work for RCA at the Space Center. He graduated from Astronaut High School and eventually lived in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Bob started working at a young age selling his homegrown tomatoes to neighbors. When he retired, Wahoo, as he was known to his friends and coworkers, managed the entire Fire Protection Department at the St. Lucie Nuclear Power Plant. He retired in 2016 after working at Florida Power and Light for forty years.

Bob is preceded in death by his mother Shirleen McDaniel and his infant sister Nanette. He is survived by his father Homer McDaniel and his siblings Carol Wisdom, David McDaniel, and Mary Jo Migues. Bob leaves cherished memories with his best friend and loving wife Brenda Brady McDaniel. He was blessed with and proud of his four children, Robert McDaniel Jr. (Lauren), Keri Hodge (Landon), Matthew McDaniel (Kylee), and David McDaniel. He was Papa to his six precious grandchildren, Logan, River, Hunter, Peyton, Colton and Carter. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Bob will always be remembered as God’s Earth Angel for his love of life, family, friends and for caring about others. Many will remember him for his kind, gentle heart toward everyone, his storing telling, small and big ones, and his personality that would make you laugh and feel loved. He enjoyed fishing, being on and in the water, all sports, cooking, golfing, bowling, traveling, nature and spending time with family and friends.

Family was very important to Bob. Many trips were made to New Mexico for large family reunions. Initially Bob was a passenger in the McDaniel family station wagon, later he continued the tradition with his children. All of Bob’s travels included finding family members, friends and coworkers to visit along the way.

Bob was always there for anyone in need, no one was ever a stranger to him. He shared and gave so much of his love and laughter because it filled his heart with so much joy. Bob will be missed but he will not be forgotten, as he will always live within our hearts and souls.

The family will have a Memorial service and Celebration of Life for Bob which will be announced at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Bob’s name to Take a Kid Fishing, Inc. a non-profit organization, the C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation, Treasure Coast Hospice, or the charity of your choice.

See you later Wahoo!
