Robert William Munyan
On May 18, 2019, Robert William “Bob” Munyan of Fort Pierce, Florida entered eternal life at the age of 92.
Bob was born on September 19, 1926 in Gibbstown, New Jersey. He attended Paulsboro High School where he excelled in wrestling. He served in the United States Navy during WWII in Pearl Harbor. Upon graduation from Alfred University in New York, he became President of Munyan’s Fuel Company in Gibbstown. On October 2, 1954 he married Barbara Ann Philipp of Bridgeport, NJ. They raised two children, LeeAnn and David.
Bob had a passion for travelling with his RV, boating, and spending time with family. He was known by all for his gift of storytelling. He was a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge and inducted into the South Jersey Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Bob was predeceased by his wife Barbara. He is survived by his children and their spouses, LeeAnn and John Jancuska and David and Susan Munyan, brother-in-law Donald Philipp and sister-in-law Andrea Philipp as well as five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, July 26, 2019 at McBride-Foley Funeral Home, 228 W. Broad St. Paulsboro, NJ 08066. 11am Visitation followed by Noon Celebration of Life Service.
