Robert Frank Owens, Sr. of Fort Pierce, FL passed away peacefully at home on April 1, 2016 after a 10 year battle with prostate and bone cancer. Born December 22, 1936 a son of the late Henry J. and Ila Mae (Williams) Owens. He is survived by his loving wife Beulah Owens of 28 years, his sister Henrietta Lewis, two sons Robert F. Owens Jr. and Carl V. Owens, three Daughters Sylvia Morris, Debbie Farineau and Patricia Donaldson, Step son Jimmy King and Step-Daughter Nancy Smith. Grandchildren Cecilia Faulkner, Tina Lasponara, Kelly Staley, Brandy Morris, Brittany Owens, Chad Perdue, Robert F Owens III, Carl V Owens Jr, Step-Grandchildren Jimmy King Jr. and Taylor King and several Great Grandchildren and Nieces and Nephews. Predeceased by his loving Parents, Brothers Charles Jack Owens Sr. and Dewey Owens and Grandson Brandon L. Morris. He was a Veteran of The United State Army Special Fourth Class 100 1st Airborne “Screaming Eagles” during the Korean War, serving from 1955 – 1958. After his honorable service he pursued his passion for driving big trucks and was a truck driver for Dandee/Flowers Bakery from 1963-1992, when they closed their doors in Ft Pierce FL. He then drove for World of Plastics trucking from 1992 - 2002, when he retired. His love for driving big trucks won him 1st Place in the Flowers Bakery Truck Roadeo, yes Roadeo in 1988. He enjoyed his retirement spending time with his family whom he treasured dearly and was an avid fisherman and boater and a previous member of the Amvets and attended Parkview Baptist Church throughout his life since a young child sleeping on his mother’s shoulder.
At his request, his ashes will be scattered at sea during a seaside service with family and close friends at a future date.
