Robert "Bob" Schmidt

Robert “Bob” Schmidt, 79, of Ft. Pierce Florida, & Mecosta, Michigan was called home with the Lord, Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm, Sunday, March 19th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2011 S. 13th St., Ft. Pierce, Florida 34950, Pastor Craig Bode will be officiating. A light luncheon will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, or the Charity of your choice. A second celebration of life will be announced at a later date in Mecosta Michigan.

Robert was born December 31, 1937 in Bay City, Michigan to Leonard and Gertrude (Berner) Schmidt. He graduated from T.L. Handy High School in 1956 and from Michigan State University in 1960. June 18, 1960, he married Carol Frost in Bay City, Michigan. Robert was a State Farm insurance agent for nearly 40 years. He was an active member at Zion Lutheran Church and Chapel of the Lakes in Michigan and Trinity Lutheran Church in Florida. He enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards and golf.

Survivors include wife, Carol, three daughters, Cindy (David) Kowalski, Bay City, Michigan, Pamela (Robert) Keister, Belmont, Michigan, Kimberly (Richard) Hull, O Fallon, Illinois, sister Marian (Bill) Urlaub, Alpena, Michigan; sister-in-law, Annette Frost; grandchildren, Kevin (Carly) Kowalski, Matthew Keister, Michaela Keister, Brandon McCollom, Ashley and Brice Hull, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father Leonard, mother Gertrude and brother-in-law Ronald Frost.
