Ronald Harrison Johns, 80, lifetime resident of Stuart, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2012 due to an extended illness.
He came from one of the original pioneer families in the Stuart area. After graduating from Stuart High School in 1950, he served in the Naval Forces during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge from the Navy he returned to Stuart and joined his father in the family business, Johns Funeral Home, where he served families of the community for over 30 years.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Stuart, as well as a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Acacia Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Stuart. Ronald was an avid boater and fisherman and enjoyed cruising the waters of the Stuart area.

He was predeceased by his wife Jeannette P. Johns, his parents, R. Cecil and Arnita Johns and his brother Harold R. Johns, all of Stuart. He is survived by his three daughters, Cynthia L. Johns of Stuart, Lisa A Johns of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Jennifer Janssen of Manchester, Connecticut, a grand-daughter, Hayley Elisabeth Janssen, also of Manchester, Connecticut, a brother R. Leland Johns of Palm City, and several nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held on September 7, 2012. Arrangements are being handled by Haisley Funeral Home of Fort Pierce, Fl.
