Ronald A. Martin 75, passed away February 6, 2014 at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce Florida. Ron was born in Saginaw Michigan on February 12, 1938 to Adolph and Viola (Wegener) Martin. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw in 1956 and the University of Michigan in 1960. He began his 30 year career with General Motors as a college graduated in training at the Chevrolet Transmission plant in Saginaw. He specialized in Labor Negotiations and Personnel Administration which took him to Tonawanda NY, Pontiac Michigan, and Danville Illinois.
Ron is survived by his wife of 54 years Frances J. Martin (née Miller), his three children Katherine Webb of Buffalo NY, David (Christine)Lancaster NY, and Amy (Alex Wade) Martin, his nine grandchildren; Kelly, Matthew, and Kristen Webb, Emily and Maxwell Martin, Katie Virginia, Cedric and Duncan Wade; his siblings Shirley Mikusko, Dale Martin, Diane Batkoski, and Theodore Martin; numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron was a resident of Ocean Village in Fort Pierce since 1990 and spent his summers at Mid Forest Lodge in Roscommon County, Michigan, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching deer, and being in the woods. He was particularly fond of researching family genealogy and rooting for the University of Michigan Wolverines. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association, the Special Olympics, or the Ocean Village Worship.
