Ronald Matthew Saxton

Ron, or as the fire dept knew him as “Turtle”, was born on Tuesday September 8, 1970 to his parents Mike & Janice Saxton. He was called home on January 17, 2021.

Ron is survived by his wife, Carole; his children, Samuel & Sydney of Port St. Lucie; his parents, Mike & Janice from Boynton Beach; his sister, Kerrie & brother-in-law Rick from Chokoloskee; nephew, Robert from Ocala & niece Kyla, from Boynton Beach.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Don & Margaret Vandergrift and his paternal grandparents, Clair & Jackie Saxton.

Ron & Carole married on December 1st, 1998 and recently celebrated 22 years of marriage.

Ron graduated from fire school in Ft. Lauderdale and medic school in Ft. Pierce. He worked for the St. Lucie Fire District for over 25 years.

Ron loved the water, from his first love of surfing, to boating and fishing. He coached little league baseball for both of his children for over 10 years. He loved coaching and mentoring our local youths. To this day, his players still call him coach Ron! Ron enjoyed remodeling everything, from boats to bathrooms. He worked on his big boat for 2 years to make it the beautiful vessel it is today. Ron and his son Sam refurbished a 1961 17-foot Montauk Boston Whaler over the last year and it’s such a gorgeous little boat. Ron loved his family & friends; he’d do anything to help anyone. His fire family knew him as the kindest, most docile spirit.
