Rose Capoccia
Rose Capoccia, 89, died May 3, 2015 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mrs. Capoccia was born in Rome, New York and moved to Fort Pierce in 1980, coming from Rome, New York.
After graduating Westmoreland High School as Salutatorian, she attended Hartwick College and graduated in 1946. She married Leo Capoccia on December 27, 1947. She proudly served during World War II in the Army’s Cadet Nurse Corp. Mrs. Capoccia was a Registered Nurse as well as an Operating Room Supervisor. She was also the President of the Association of Operating Room Nurses. She has been retired for 35 years.
Mrs. Capoccia was a member of the Woman’s Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. She loved to bowl and play bridge. She started teaching herself to use a computer starting in 1992 and she became an avid computer user. She had spent time teaching many others how to use computers and technology.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Leo Capoccia of Fort Pierce, Florida; her sons, John Capoccia of Frederick, Maryland and Leo Capoccia (Paula) of Rome, New York; her daughter, Rachel Capoccia (Les Hairrell) of Los Angeles, California; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Capoccia; sisters, Susan Carello of Sylvan Beach, New York and Gilda Law of Tyler, Texas; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Ann Capoccia and son, Ronald Capoccia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 8, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St Mark-Evangelist Catholic Church 1924 Zephyr Ave, Fort Pierce, FL 34982.
