Rose "Merlene" M Kimes-Stokes

Rose Merlene Kimes-Stokes, 79, of Stuart, FL passed away at her home with her beloved family by her side.

Rose was born September 10, 1943 in Oil City, PA to Merle and Leola Kimes. Her father passed just before she was born. Affectionately known as Merlene, she spent most of her life in Ft. Pierce, FL where she graduated from Dan McCarty High School. Merlene was a faithful member of Grace Presbyterian Church on Brit Road in Martin County.

Merlene’s faith helped her to communicate and love the people in her community. She was a Godly wife to William and will be greatly missed by her surviving family; son, Merle and wife, Judy Stokes and daughter, Carrie and husband, Jesse Fors; her dear sisters, Janice White and Susan Stegkemper both of GA, Joyce and Sally and brother, Sheldon (Butch) all of St. Lucie County, and brother, Gerald of VA. She was beloved by her numerous nieces and nephews. She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother to her 9 grandchildren and their spouses as well as the 4 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her mother, father, stepfather, 1 sister, 1 stepbrother, and 1 stepsister and a nephew.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 10AM at Grace Presbyterian Church 1875 NW Britt Road Stuart, FL with a service to start at 11AM. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
