Roy Cleveland Burkhalter, Sr., 76, died April 7, 2023 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Mr. Burkhalter was born in Stockton, Georgia and resided in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Roy was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as a Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class from 1965-1968. He was a construction superintendent and retired as a locksmith from Indian River State College. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Miller Burkhalter of Fort Pierce, FL; brother, Ronnie (Kathy) Burkhalter of Fort Pierce, FL; children, Roy (Kat) Burkhalter, Jr., of Melbourne, FL, Sandy (John) Aramini of Melbourne, FL, Melissa Lane Merritt (Andres Cassella) of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Amanda (Perry Dorrestein) of Nashville, TN, Angel Burkhalter of Tomah, WI, Tevy, Heaven, Daniel & Alana Burkhalter of Melbourne, FL , Nicolas Aramini of Indian Harbor Beach & Alyssa Aramini of Melbourne, FL, Kristen Lane of St. Petersburg, FL & Jenna Lane of Jacksonville, FL, and Ansley & Laney Merritt of Port St. Lucie, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Annie Lee Burkhalter and stepson, Michael Lane.
Services: Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 5:00-6:00 PM with a service to follow at 6:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. Burial will take place on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 9:30 AM at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL.
