Roy James LaVack, 78, died January 1, 2012 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.
Mr. LaVack was born in Massena, New York and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1984 coming from New York State.
He was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church. He retired from the U.S. Army after 28 years, during that time he served in the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Donna M. LaVack of Ft. Pierce, FL; daughters, Joy Campbell of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and Terrie Hampton of Bellamy, Alabama; step-daughter, Celeste Waske of Hotchkiss, CO; step-sons, Frederick Jones of South Carolina and Gregory Jones of Port St. Lucie, FL; sisters, Dorothy Garrow of Inverness, FL and Agnes Fisher of Belleview, FL; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
Services: Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 5-7 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark’s Catholic Church.
