Rubye Lee Purcell

Rubye Lee Purcell, 82, died January 8, 2008 with her family at her side.Rubye was born in Graceville, Florida and graduated from Graceville High School in 1943. She married James Douglas Purcell on December 3, 1945 and following their marriage they moved to Miami where they lived until 1959 and then in July of 1959 the family moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida.She was employed by General Development Corp. for thirty years. She served as Assistant Recreation Director, Dining Room Manager at the St. Lucie Country Club, Manager of the Home Port Inn and ended her career as the Coordinator of Land Tours. She retired from GDC in 1990.Rubye enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was also a big sports fan, especially tennis.Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Cap. Cain; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Davis; granddaughter and husband, Angie Cain and Harry Gibbs; granddaughter and husband, Kelly and Clyde Tiger; and great-grandchildren, Rylee and Kylah Tiger and Paige and Presely Gibbs.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Boulevard, Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
