Ruth Marie Bergstrom, 75, died July 12, 2008 in Ft. Pierce, Florida.Ruth was born in Berlin, New Jersey and moved to Ft. Pierce in 1997 coming from Port St. Lucie.Survivors include her brothers, John Eddie Bergstrom of Seminole, FL, Howard Bergstrom of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Guy Bergstrom of Clementon, NJ; many loving nieces and nephews; and Sister in Christ, Maggie Torres of Ft. Pierce, FL.Ruth worked for 33 years at RCA in Moorestown, NJ as a Government Specialist. She got her pilot’s license at the young age of 22. She loved flying and ferried many planes to Arizona. She was a member of the volunteer ambulance squad in NJ. She was very active in the St. Lucie Chorale and was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Choir in Stuart, FL. She also sang at the Conservatory of Music in Philadelphia. She was an active member in the Indian River Presbyterian Church Ruth Circle. Ruth enjoyed ushering in the McAlpin Theater at Indian River State College. For the last 1 &1/2 years, Ruth traveled to Miami every 3 weeks for cancer treatments. The hospital at the University of Miami became her second home. She was admired by all who treated and knew her. She was an inspiration to the medical staff as well as the other patients. She had a great sense of humor entertaining everyone with whom she came in contact. Her love of life was evident to everyone she met.In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Youth Ministry at Indian River Presbyterian Church, 2499 Virginia Ave., Ft. Pierce, FL 34982.Services: A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Indian River Presbyterian Church, 2499 Virginia Ave.,Ft. Pierce.
