Surrounded by her family, Ruth M. Hoey of Fort Pierce, Florida died on Tuesday, August 10, 2010. She was the devoted and loving wife of the late Lynn W. Hoey and the late Louis J. Perfetto. She was a native of Buffalo, New York born on September 24, 1935. In 1981, moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and then in 1990 to Fort Pierce, Florida.
She was a retired registered nurse graduating from the University of Buffalo and the Edward J. Meyer Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Buffalo. Most of her professional life was devoted to caring for the terminally ill with Vitas Health Corp. in Fort Lauderdale for 10 years and then Hospice of the Treasure Coast in Fort Pierce- a total of 20 years in this service. She retired at the age of 69 from Treasure Coast Hospice. Member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Vero Beach Elks #1774 and the Fort Pierce Jazz Society. She also belonged to the Treasure Coast Ovarian Cancer Alliance and Sun Bonnet Sue Quilters. She enjoyed reading, and quilting for family and friends.
She is survived by her children Sandra (Chuck) Eashak and grandson Chris Strohbach, Nicholas (Lauren) Perfetto and granddaughter Danielle as well as Louis (Laura) Perfetto and their daughters Jessica and Alissa. Her brother Edwin Sliwinski, aunt Irene Naperiala and several cousins.

Family will accept friends and visitors at Haisley Funeral Home, 3015 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, August 11th. Funeral Mass to be held on Thursday, August 12th at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 407 S. 33rd Street, Fort Pierce at 11:00 AM with interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce, Florida.
