Ruth M. Mosley, age 83, died July 21, 2012.

She was born on September 24, 1928 in Sedalia, Missouri. She was a resident of Fort Pierce for 56 years where she earned an Associates in Arts degree at Indian River Community College in Institutional Foods.

A devote Christian, Ruth Mosley was an active member in the senior class of Westside Baptist Church. Prior to coming to Westside, she was a member of First Christian Disciples of Christ Church serving as an Elder, Deacon, Secretary, Treasurer of the Mary Reid Memorial Fund, Evangelistic Chairman, Past President and Treasurer of Christian Woman’s Fellowship, Sunday School teacher for the Keystone Class, and a representative for Church Women United.
She worked in Food Service for Saint Lucie County School District for 37 years at Fort Pierce Elementary, Fort Pierce Central High School, and as manager for Morningside Elementary for 15 years. She was active in the Saint Lucie County School Food Service Association serving as President and Treasurer. Ruth won awards for special events at state level.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Elonzoe J. Mosley, her parents, Buelah and Simmie Welch, and her sister, B. Jean Hayes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Westside Baptist Church in Ruth’s name, 3361 South Jenkins Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981 or to the Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Terry L. Mosley and his wife Maria, Tim W. Mosley and his wife Becky. Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren include Brian and wife Heather and son, John Christian Mosley, Jenny Mosley and son Micah Brown, Laura and husband Alex and sons Issac & Joshua Otalora, Caroline and husband Kevin, and daughter Zoey Miller, Melissa and husband Ramon and son AJ and daughter Mia Ylanan, Allison and husband Dave Christino, Andrew Willis. Her brother, Jarold L. Welch and sisters Helen Whittington and Dorothy Kirkpatrick and many nieces and nephews of Sedalia, Missouri.
