Ruth E. Young, 88, died November 10, 2012, in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Ruth was born in Akron, Ohio, and was a resident of Fort Pierce since 1960, coming from Michigan.

She graduated from Baldwin Wallace College (now University) with a BSRN, worked at the Fort Pierce Memorial Hospital as Operating Room Supervisor, and worked in ICU and the Emergency Room, later worked in her son, Dr. Eric Young’s medical practice, was a member of the St. Lucie County Rock and Gem Club serving as an officer and taught workshop classes. She and her husband loved to travel and camp across the United States hunting rocks and visiting friends and family, and she loved to cook, quilt, bead and make jewelry.

Survivors include her, sons, Michael (Susan) Young and Dr. Eric (Marjorie) Young; daughters, Diana (Dennis) Wright and Patricia Hills and Deborah (Steve) Armbrust; sisters, Virginia White and Mary Stamm; daughter-in-law, Mary Young, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Young and son, Paul Young.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s memory to Treasure Coast Hospice, 5000 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981.

Visitation will be Monday, November 12th from 3:00 to 4:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
