Sally Ann Broadhurst

July 6, 1944 — November 11, 2022

Sally Ann Waterbury Broadhurst, 78, passed away peacefully at her home in St. Lucie West on Friday, November 11, 2022. Sally was born in Stamford, CT on July 6, 1944 and did office work in a variety of capacities before retiring. She then relocated to Florida with her husband, Tom.

In 2020, Sally was predeceased by her husband Tom, the love of her life. Her parents and ten siblings also predeceased her.

Sally is survived by her brother-in-law, Dick Zaffino; her nieces Vicki Weed (James), Paula Keeler (Kevin), Amy Gaal (Charlie), and Dory Corrigan (Mike); her nephews Richard Zaffino (Eileen) and Matt Zaffino (Robyn); her great nieces Tori Weed, Rachael Wardwell (Jeffery), Christy Corrigan (fiancée Laura), and Liz Hitt (Rob); also her great nephews James D. Weed, Dave Corrigan, and Enzo Zaffino. Additionally, Sally leaves behind her special community of friends–Kitt, Lisa, José, Reyna, Bobby, Pat, Lou, Patty, Jerry, and Susan.

With her husband, Sally enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, and visiting casinos. Several of her interests were sewing, crafts, needlepoint, crocheting, and reading. Sally loved animals–particularly cats. She had a sense of humor and frequently shared funny quips with friends and family. She liked talking on the phone with those she loved about anything and everything–from the most significant news to the most trivial moments. Sally was the foster mother of two children; she looked forward to outings with her close friends, as well as Sunday breakfast gatherings and monthly dinners (that she often organized) with them. She had a variable sweet tooth that most recently included Peppermint Patties, Fudge Stripes, and Ring Dings; this will continue to bring family and friends numerous laughs.

Sally’s family is most grateful to her special community of friends for their friendship, love, concern, and care for her during the past few years and in these last few months–when she needed it most. The family also thanks the entire Treasure Coast Hospice team for their compassionate care, guidance, and support.
