Sanderson Smith, age 87, died on December 30, 2012 in Jensen Beach, FL.
He was born in Holyoke, MA and moved to Jensen Beach in 2011, coming from Hingham, MA.
He was a salesman for Geigy Pharmaceuticals, retiring in 1985, after attaining the position of Senior Medical Rep, and working as a Clinical Conference Coordinator, and receiving the Outstanding Achievement Award three times (which was the maximum number of times eligible). He graduated from Massachusetts State College with a Major in Agriculture in 1943, received a BS degree from University of Michigan in 1949, and an MS in Zoology from the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies in 1950. He was a Veteran in the U.S. Army, an avid reader, poker player and a Boston sports fan.
He is survived by his daughter; Candace E. Covello of Jensen Beach, FL; sons, Douglas M. Smith of Plano, TX, Mark S. Smith of Grafton, MA; brother, Hamilton Smith of Pensacola, FL and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two wives; Jane M. Smith and Marion Rossiter-Smith; and his sister Nancy Lawrence.

A service will be held on January 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Evangelical Congregational Church in Grafton, MA. Roney Funeral Home in North Grafton, MA is in charge of out of town arrangements.
