Shelba J. “Shelly” Moyers Roche, beloved mom, sister, and friend, went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2022
.
She was born on April 7, 1937 in Speedwell, Tennessee to Elmer F. Moyers and Cora E. (Leach) Moyers.
Shelly graduated from Whitney’s Business College in Kingsport, Tennessee in 1957 then left her small hometown to start secretarial school in Washington, D.C. and started the beginning of her 50 year career with the Pentagon. She held several governmental jobs in several states eventually retiring from St. Lucie County after 25 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Carrs Chapel Baptist Church in Speedwell, Tennessee and attended Midway Road Baptist Church in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Shelly will be missed so much by her children, grandchildren, sisters and so many friends. She was always the life of the party. She would like to be remembered by the fond and fun memories each one of us have of her.
Survivors include her children, Jan (Rick) Zeller of Fort Pierce, FL, Paul Roche of Brasstown, NC, Melanie (Roger) Davis of Johnson City, TN, Patrick (Melissa) Roche of Indianapolis, IN, Shane (Kim) Vanaman of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Anna Carr of Church Hill, TN and Fhea Frizzel of Russellville, AR; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth B. Roche, son, James L. Vanaman, father, Elmer F. Moyers, mother, Cora E. Moyers, brothers, Floyd, Carl LeRoy, and Claud Moyers.
