Shirley Jean Ellers Martin, 79, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Ms. Martin moved to Fort Pierce, Florida in 2000 coming from North Carolina.
She retired as foreman from Cherry Point Marine base. Shirley was a member of the Orange Baptist Church. She was passionate about making care packages for the homeless and donated her hand knitted blankets to Hospice.
Survivors include; daughters, Debra J. Compton of Fort Pierce, Florida, Pamela S. Buck of Pensacola, Florida and Miriam K. McCallister of Monroe, North Carolina; sisters, Hattie L. Stillman of Bloomington, Illinois and Minnie R. Trippi of Fountain Inn, South Carolina; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Shirley was predeceased by her first husband, Gerald W. Ellers and her second husband Herbert L. Martin; brothers, Aaron A. Mills, John J. Mills, William D. Mills.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 4:00 – 5:00 PM at Orange Avenue Baptist Church 100 Cyclone Drive Fort Pierce, Florida 34945 with a service to follow at 5:00 PM. Burial will take place in North Carolina.
