Shirley H. Lowe

September 28, 1927 — February 24, 2011

Shirley Lowe, 83, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away February 24, 2011 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Wabash, Indiana and later moved to Chicago where she married her husband, Robert, in 1949. She received an associate’s degree in Art Design. After starting their family with their son, Robert Jr., they moved to Westport, Connecticut where her children, Webb and Brenda, were born. They lived in Bath, Ohio for 22 years where Shirley formed many lasting friendships and was involved in community activities including the Bath Art Show, tennis, volleyball and exercise programs. Shirley and Bob lived in Saudi Arabia for 4 years and since 1984 they made their home near Vero Beach, Florida. She enjoyed sailing and was an active member in the Fort Pierce Yacht Club and the Pelican Yacht Club. Shirley was an avid bridge player, tennis player, cook and enjoyed making new friends while traveling throughout the world.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Lowe, son, Webb Sterling Lowe and his wife Luanne White Lowe, daughter, Brenda Lowe and her husband Paul Chomet, and grandchildren, Allison Lowe Chomet, Ashley Sterling Lowe, Samuel Lowe Chomet, and Christopher Joseph Lowe. She was predeceased by her son Robert Lowe Jr.

A celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Fort Pierce Yacht Club, 700 North Indian River Drive Fort Pierce, FL 34950-9144, March 13, 2011 at 4 pm. A guestbook is available at www.haisleyfuneralhome.com .
