Shirley Johnson Royal, 81, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida passed away peacefully on May 19, 2019 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Shirley was born on October 20, 1937 in Lynchburg, Virginia and moved to Florida in 2009 coming from Burlington, MA. She resided in Fort Lauderdale before moving to Port St. Lucie.
Shirley had a love of life and always lived every day to the fullest and on her own terms. She was a selfless woman who always put others first and faithfully loved to sing. Before moving to Florida, she was a part of the gospel choir in St. Johns Baptist Church in Woburn, MA. One of her many other passions were crocheting and she showed her love through her wonderful cooking. Shirley enjoyed volunteering as a foster grandparent for many students at Bayshore Elementary.
Survivors include: son, Sidney C. Royal, III (Marc Lerux) of Port St. Lucie, FL.; daughter, Mellittia Renee West of Maynard, MA; grandson, G-A West of Forest Hills, NY, Carleton Cornish and Craig Wheeler of Port St. Lucie, FL, Denise Townsend & Cindy Barriero of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and many loving family and friends.
A gathering will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 from 11:00–12:00 PM with a Service starting at 12:00 PM at Haisley Tribute Center, 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd, Port Saint Lucie, Florida 34984.
