Shirley Delores St. Aimie, 71, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away peacefully the morning of June 5, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Shirley was born May 4th, 1953 in Westmoreland, Jamaica to Justin and Silvia (Martin) Gorden. She married her beloved Edgar Wilfred Elwin St. Aimie on August 5, 1972 in Roseau, Dominica.
Shirley graduated from Savanna La Mar Secondary school in Westmoreland, Jamaica. She was employed with the Los Angelos County Health Services Department in California. She retired as Senior Clerk from King/Drew Medical Center after more than 20 years.
Shirley served the Lord as a member of the Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Ft. Pierce, FL.
Shirley loved cooking and prepared many delicious Jamaican dishes for her family and friends. She was an avid reader and had an extensive romance novel collection. She eagerly anticipated new releases and kept several lists of books she wanted to read next. She pursued the purchase of newly released books and read them all with enthusiasm. On average, she would read 4 books a week.
Shirley listened to NPR news and reports, she found the broadcast to be a great source of reliable information.
Shirley is survived by her husband and best friend, Edgar Wilfred Elwin St. Aimie of Port St. Lucie, FL; children, Herman St. Aimie of California, Jefferson St. Aimie of Mississippi, Nichole St. Aimie-Bonner of North Carolina, mother, Ms. Sylvia Martin of California and siblings, Donna Sanguinette, Mark Laing, Charmaine Laing, Joy Cooper, Lloyd Cooper, Ruth Gordon, Diana Gordon, and Earl Gordon all of California. She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Justin Gordan and maternal grandmother, Ms. Theresa Martin.
She played an instrumental role in the immigration process of numerous relatives for their immigration to the United States… a selfless act that cannot be forgotten and is very much appreciated.

The family invites relatives and friends to pay their respects at a visitation to be held on Friday, June 14th , 2024 from 10AM to 12PM with the Funeral Service at 12PM at the Haisley Tribute Center 2041 SW Bayshore Blvd Port St. Lucie, FL 34984. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery 3800 Sunrise Blvd Fort Pierce, FL.
