Shirley Beatrice Elswick Whitaker

Shirley Beatrice Elswick Whitaker, 83, passed away peacefully at her home on June 9, 2024 in Fort Pierce, Florida. 

Shirley was born in Oakwood, VA to parents Jessie Elswick and Ruth Messer Elswick on January 8, 1941 and resided in Fort Pierce, FL.

Shirley was a member of the Indian River Presbyterian Church in Fort Pierce.  She enjoyed cooking, bowling, and spending time with friends and loved ones. 

Survivors include her children, Barbara Lynn (Craig) Hawley of Tennessee and Debra Kay (David) Ebner of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Christie Hubbard and Bert Bernardo, Jimmy Favorite II and Jenn Rodriguez, Karri Jacobs and Rob Pluchino, Brenden (Cansadie) Ebner, as well as Ashton Cooke and Dior Lima; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Hubbard II, Sydnei (Tyler) Cubbedge, Ashlynn (Brett) Oliver, Royce Hughes, Bryson Ebner, Kyle Ebner, Karter Ebner; soon-to-be great grandchild, Saylor Meadow Cooke; soon-to-be great-great grandchild, Scottie May Oliver; son-in-law, Jimmy Favorite; siblings, Wayne (Rethia) Elswick, Patricia Looney, Mark (Shirley) Elswick.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Fisher (passed in 1987), husband, John Whitaker (passed in 2001), daughter, Lisa Ann Albritton, siblings, Tim Elswick, Glenna Rose, Ray Elswick, Theresa “Robin” Thierry.

Services:  A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
