Obituary for Stacy A. Rogers II
Stacy Alfred Rogers II, 70, of Fort Pierce, passed away on June 29, 2021.
Stacy was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on April 15, 1951. His childhood years were spent enjoying the sunshine with his sister, from South Florida to Cuba and Las Vegas. He attended a technical college in Jacksonville, where he earned a degree in mechanical drafting.
Stacy was revered among his family for his intelligence and quick wit. He was incredibly well read, and had many interests – from history, to science, and engineering, to the arts. He was fond of television and film from the Golden Age of Hollywood, and had encyclopedic knowledge of the films, actors, directors, and writers of the era. He was a true tinker who loved to build and engineer new household items from upcycled materials. Stacy was an early adopter of computer science and became a maven in online communities on a wide variety of topics and interests. His love for engineering sparked his interest in car racing, and for many years he enjoyed annual trips with friends to the races in Sebring, Florida.
Stacy is preceded in death by his father, Stacy Rogers I, and mother, Mary Rogers.
Stacy is survived by his sister Mary Tippins, brother-in-law George Tippins, nephew Shane Short, nieces Sheila Concannon, Tami Tippins, Stacy Short, Sonjah Greco, Jessica Register, and Ashley Tippins, 12 great-nephews and great-nieces, as well as great-great nephews and nieces.
An inurnment will take place at Riverview Memorial Gardens at a later date.
