Tawanda Dineen Pinkston-Castro was born January 27,1974 in Syracuse, New York to Mr. Forest Branch Sr. and the late Ms. Lorraine Pinkston. Tawanda passed away peacefully February 25th, 2024 in Ft. Pierce, FL.
At the age of 15, she lost her mother, but she proved to be a determined and persevering person, finishing high school, starting college and later raising Bashaum and Tyrianna through challenging times.
Tawanda met Ramon in Syracuse New York in 1994. They were married August 10, 2001. They enjoyed traveling, fishing and playing cards. They also enjoyed laughing while spending time with family and friends. Their love for one another became evident when they had their first son, Isaiah. Seven years later their love again became evident when Elijah was born. Some years later Ramon demonstrated his love for his wife when she went through her first challenge with cancer. He made sure she was well taken care of. He also showed his support when Tawanda decided to dedicate her life to Jehovah.
Tawanda enjoyed reading, eating healthy food whether dining out or cooking. While pregnant with her youngest son Elijah, she earned her Masters Degree in Business. Her hobby for making natural products influenced her to start her own business (Zinnia Body Essentials) making soaps, body butter, candles, room and linen sprays. She felt her true success, however, was when she became baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on June 3, 2023. Tawanda was the most kind and generous person. She always greeted you with a beautiful smile. She will always be remembered for her love and loyalty to her family and Jehovah.
She was preceded in death by her mother Lorraine Pinkston.
She is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Ramon; 4 children: Bashaum Stewart (wife Sabrina), Tyrianna Knight (husband Cameron), Isaiah and Elijah; 1 grandson: Zebulun; 1 brother, Forest Branch, Jr.; 1 sister, Xina Jenkins, and a host of family and friends.
Tawanda will be laid to rest at South Florida National VA Cemetery in Lake Worth Florida on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 1PM.
