Theda Lucenne Ray Carmichael, 91, of Fort Pierce, FL, passed away on February 2, 2016, surrounded by family. She was born in Parkersburg, WV, the daughter of late Ines and Raymond Ray. On September 12, 1942, she married the late Lawrence Edward Carmichael in Belpre, OH. In 1956, they moved to Fort Pierce, FL. In 1957, under the ministry of Rev. Adrian Rogers, she became a member of Parkview Baptist Church.
Her careers included Stanley Home Products for 14 years and Administrative Assistant to the City Manager of the City of Fort Pierce, where she retired after 20 years of service. Upon retirement, she volunteered as a member of the Lawnwood Medical Center Pink Ladies Auxiliary for 25 years.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Fred Ratliff of Fort Pierce, FL; son and daughter-in-law Kevan and Lisa Carmichael of Fort Pierce, FL; brother, Raymond L. Ray of Belpre, OH; grandchildren, Duane Ratliff of Vero Beach, FL; Larry Ratliff of Orlando, FL; Kacey Carmichael Ahlgren of Nisswa, MN; Kody Carmichael of Bloxom, VA; Erika Gerstner, of Port St. Lucie, FL; great-grandchildren: Sarah, Ethan, & Adam Ratliff; Benjamin & Abigail Ratliff; Kaden & Kinley Ahlgren.
Mrs. Carmichael was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Carmichael, mother Ines Ray Welch, and father Raymond Ray.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 from 1-2 PM with a celebration of her life to follow at 2:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, 3015 Okeechobee Rd, Fort Pierce, FL.
